Required Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Technical Diploma in instructional area or equivalent higher education training.
Current Tennessee Practical Nursing license required.
Three years of experience in the Nursing field within the last 5 years.
Must possess knowledge of all phases of practical nursing including curricula and skill labs
Strong hands-on technical background in the skills labs preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

· Must possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective assistant to the instructor and to interact with high school and adult students.

· Must show evidence of good character, mature attitude, and stable personality.

· Must possess computer skills.

· Prior teaching or evidence of ability to teach students a plus.

Responsibilities

The Practical Nursing Instructor’s Assistant primarily assists the Practical Nursing faculty in supporting the duties of the faculty and coordinator to include

Obtain textbooks/digital products and assist in their review for the practical nursing program
Assist in keeping course curriculum current
Build tests from nursing curriculum materials
Assist in recording and tracking student progress
Organizing nursing labs for student skills practice
Maintain equipment and supplies needs
Facilitate student learning through skills labs
Reinforce teaching provided by practical nursing faculty
Assist Coordinator and faculty in course, lab, and clinical scheduling
Create and maintain documents and flowcharts for practical nursing department

Salary Range

Commensurate with qualifications, experience, education, and in accordance with the guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
