Administrative Office Technology

About

The Administrative Office Technology Program is designed to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for success in today's computerized office by providing technical instruction and skill development needed for a career as an administrative professional or medical administrative assistant. The coursework includes office procedures, success strategies, business etiquette, college keyboarding/data entry, computer essentials, word processing applications, spreadsheet applications, and employability skills. Students receive practical experience through extensive hands-on training, using office technology, completing work based learning activities as well as developing work ethics, interpersonal skills, and professional skills.

During the final trimester, students choose one of the following areas of specialization:

Administrative Assisting

Accounting Assisting

Financial Services (Banking industry)

Medical Administrative Assisting (includes medical coding and insurance billing)
